BREATHING
Breath plays a crucial role in your Pilates practice. When done correctly, it helps to oxygenate muscles, regulate heart rate, and release tension. Synchronizing breath with movements increases the exercises’ effectiveness.
FOCUSING ON THE PILATES PRINCIPLES
CENTERING
Centering refers to the concept of the core - which includes abdominals, lower back, hips, and buttocks. In Pilates, focus is on activating the core to provide a stable base for movement and to improve posture.
CONTROL
This refers to conscious, deliberate muscular control. In Pilates, you must move with intention to ensure the correct muscles are targeted. Practicing control also helps develop strength and endurance.
PRECISION
Precision refers to the attention to detail required for proper execution of the exercises. Each Pilates exercise has a specific purpose and must be performed with precision to achieve best results. Practicing precision also helps to improve overall body awareness, and control.
FLOW
Flow refers to the smooth and fluid movements characteristic of the practice. In Pilates, we strive for a continuous flow of movement, linking one exercise to the next with precision and control to develop coordination and grace.
CONCENTRATION
Concentration is essential for achieving peak results. To perform Pilates exercises correctly, focus must be on the movements and the body’s response to them. This helps engage muscles fully and develop greater body awareness.
Our STUDIO LOCATIONS
We have two beautiful, conveniently located studios. One is in Brunswick and the other is in Norway. Please be sure when you’re booking a class or event that you select your preferred location. To make it easy for you, we have color-coded each studio.
We are located on the second floor in the ballroom. Our entrance is on the LEFT side of the building. Walk down the ally and up the steps under the BLUE awning.
PARKING
There is ample street parking on Pleasant Street or Maine Street. Another option is the municipality parking lot that stretches from Town Hall Place to Abbey Road.
We are centrally located in Norway next to Ship Happens and across from The Victorian on Main Street.

There is amply parking on Main Street or in our parking lot in front of the studio.
