In Asia, the ginkgo is considered a holy tree and is often found near temples and other places of worship. In Buddhism, Taoism and in the teachings of Confucius, the tree has acquired great symbolic significance, representing long life, vitality, and hope.

The Symbol of Vitality
Ginkgo trees are living fossils that have not changed for almost 200 million years. This tree grows almost anywhere, in both hot and cold zones, and it copes well in punishing conditions; from urban environments full of air pollution, to bad soil conditions, and even poor watering conditions, yet it still thrives.
